Advanced Sintering Process

Multilayer zirconia in just 120 minutes. Maximum aesthetics. Minimum processing time.

With the Advanced Sintering Process (ASP), you can reduce the entire sintering process for conventional multilayer zirconia from “cold to cold” to just 120 minutes—reproducibly, cost-effectively, and without any loss of quality.

Instead of 8 to 10 hours, now just 2 hours.

This system expansion, consisting of the ASP program for NOVA furnaces and the NOVA capsule cooling unit , enables the highest possible quality results for multilayer zirconia in the absolute shortest amount of time.

Traditional sintering process: Long cycle times, tied-up furnace capacity, and high energy costs.

ASP Process: Faster furnace clearance, greater flexibility, and cost-effective same-day workflows.

Why ASP?

→ Just 120 minutes from “cold to cold”: From the start of the sintering process to a zirconia restoration that’s lukewarm to the touch

→ Maximum aesthetic quality: Optimal translucency, chroma, and gray-scale rendering with conventional multilayer zirconia

→ Cost-effective & energy-efficient: Significantly lower energy consumption compared to traditional long-term processes

→ Increased productivity in the lab: More sintering cycles per day and faster furnace availability

→ Reliable and reproducible: Patented integration of the ASP program and the NOVA capsule

Maximum material performance—without compromise

ASP was specifically developed to harness the full potential of modern multilayer zirconia materials.

The specially tailored ASP program ensures:

  • high translucency
  • precise color rendering
  • optimal intensity
  • reproducible results

Pritidenta® is the first manufacturer to have certified this process. Other manufacturers are currently in the validation phase.

Greater Efficiency for Your Dental Lab

ASP not only improves processing time but also the entire workflow.

How ASP Works

1. Start the ASP program

The specially tailored program controls the optimized sintering process.

2. Sampling at 1,100 °C

The sintered shell is transferred into the NOVA capsule using special pliers.

3. Controlled Cooling

The workpieces cool evenly and gently outside the furnace.

4. Further processing after a total of about 120 minutes

The zirconia restoration is lukewarm and ready for the next step.

The individual process steps in detail:

Details, Technology & Background:

  • Image quality is optimal in terms of translucency, grayscale, intensity, and chroma for conventional multilayer ZrO2
  • The processing time has been reduced to 120 minutes instead of 8–10 hours
  • Controlled, uniform, and gentle cooling outside the combustion chamber ensures safe and perfect results
  • No thermal stresses, no loss of quality—> ‘s trays last longer, and objects are secure
  • The oven is available again much faster, resulting in more cycles per day and higher productivity
  • Reduced energy consumption due to shorter processing times
  • Plannable same-day concepts are economically feasible
  • Maximum material performance without compromising quality

This refers to the time period from when the loaded sintering tray is placed in the sintering furnace until the zirconia restoration is lukewarm and ready for further processing.

ASP was developed to enable maximum material performance with significantly reduced processing time—in a reproducible manner and without compromising aesthetics.

ASP was developed specifically for conventional multilayer zirconia. The first materials have already been validated, and additional manufacturers are currently in the validation phase.

The targeted introduction of oxygen automatically regenerates the protective oxide layer on the MoSi₂ heating elements. This reduces maintenance requirements and helps extend the service life of the components.

At the same time, energy consumption is significantly lower compared to traditional long-term processes.

The quality of zirconia is not determined solely by the heating process. Controlled cooling also has a decisive influence on translucency, color rendering, and material stress. This is exactly where the NOVA capsule comes into play. The ASP further optimizes the critical cooling phase: controlled, uniform, gentle on the material, and outside the firing chamber. This reduces thermal stress and ensures the optical quality of the work.

Greater efficiency. Higher quality. More possibilities.

"We're thrilled! ASP is finally an innovation that offers benefits for dental technicians in every way. The quality of the results is uncompromising, and the process optimization is amazing. We can suddenly sinter four times during a normal workday! We saw it, tested it, and put it to use right away—there’s nothing to think about; we’re very happy to be the very first ones to use it!" "That's what happens when companies, deeply rooted in their expertise, pursue their development with passion."
